What the picture shows

The cup stands on a saucer with its handle to the right; pink roses and a gold rim are scattered over the white china. A striped grey kitten with large green eyes and a white muzzle looks out of it, paws folded on the rim. Watercolour patches spread around — pink, coral and soft green — melting gradually into the white canvas. Nineteen floss colours over 40 m of thread. The roses on the china are worked in small stitches in three shades of pink, so the pattern does not blur into a patch.
