Description

“Sunny tenderly” shows a white cat curled up asleep inside a wreath of orange flowers.

What the picture shows

The cat lies curled into a tight circle: its back is worked in white with blue-grey shadows, the ear and nose are pink, the paws tucked in, and the tail wraps around the body to end beside its face. A closed wreath of orange flowers like marigolds runs around it, each head worked in two or three shades of orange, with dark green leaves and tiny white dots of blossom between them. The wreath almost touches the edges of the circle, so the cat sits right at its heart. Sixteen floss colours are split between the flowers and the soft half-tones of the fur. The white Aida stays as the background and keeps the piece bright. The wreath and the cat form a dense circle in the centre of the square, leaving the corners of the cloth empty.
