Description

“Sunny Bedryk” shows a ladybird on the petal of a large pink and lilac daisy.

What the picture shows

The flower fills the lower half of the circle: broad petals running from pale pink to lilac, a yellow centre and a stem with narrow leaves beneath. A ladybird sits sideways on the upper petal — red wing cases with black spots, a black head and thin legs. The background is not stitched, so the white canvas stays as light in which the flower seems to hang. Nineteen floss colours, 30 m, with many soft transitions in the petals. The spots on the wing cases are set asymmetrically, as on a real beetle, and that is what makes the detail convincing.
