Cross Stitch Kit "Sheep going to sleep"
Description
“Sheep going to sleep” shows a flock of stylised sheep drifting across a light blue ground with a line of lettering below them.
What the picture shows
The sheep are scattered in several rows around a circle: their bodies are worked as solid blocks of mint, emerald, pale pink and greyish blue, while heads, ears and thin legs stay grey. Each one looks in its own direction, so the flock feels lively rather than lined up. Small coral flowers, crosses and curls that resemble balls of wool fill the gaps between them. The words Dream of Sheep run along the bottom in warm turquoise, in English. Twelve floss colours are laid as flat blocks with no shading, so the drawing reads almost like appliqué. The light blue Aida works as the background and is left unstitched. The sheep vary in size, the bigger ones low down and the smaller ones scattered towards the top, so the flock seems to recede.
