What the picture shows

The house stands on a rise to the left: pale walls, orange tiles, a tower with a bell, dark cypresses and rounded crowns beside it. Rows of lavender lead towards it from the front edge, narrowing into the distance and setting the perspective, with ochre earth showing between them. The sky is pale and almost unstitched — the white canvas stays as air above the horizon. Twenty floss colours over 30 m, with many close lilacs and greens. The lavender rows are stitched at different densities: solid in front, sparser further away, and that is what creates the depth.
