“Night euphoria” is a night garden: flowers and grasses on a deep black ground.

What the picture shows

The composition rises from below as one continuous thicket: a white-and-pink rose and a pale peony in the centre, lilac and violet blooms on either side, thin blue twigs, grass heads and ferns along the edges. The colours are cool — blue, lilac and mint — with a few warm pink patches. Small pale specks like fireflies are scattered between the stems. The black canvas is left unstitched and it is what holds the depth. Thirty-four floss colours, 70 m. The petals carry soft transitions while the stems are single lines, so the flowers do not merge into one mass.
