Description

“Llama-llama” shows a white llama in a festive blanket standing among pink cacti.

What the picture shows

The animal stands side-on, neck stretched up, eyes closed, ears alert. The blanket on its back is the brightest part of the piece: bands of raspberry, turquoise, yellow and orange with zigzags and triangles, finished with a row of coloured tassels along the bottom. A necklace of round beads hangs at its neck and woven bands sit on its legs. Cacti and branches worked in pink and coral grow around it, and small stars and crosses are scattered across the field. The white Aida works as the background with pale pink washes. Seventeen floss colours go mostly into the blanket and the small details. The llama fills the centre of the circle, while the cacti and stars occupy the space at either side.
