Description

“Little Christmas Angel” shows a winged girl decorating a fir tree topped with a golden star.

What the picture shows

The angel stands to the right of the tree in a long cream dress, her hair gathered in a high knot and clear wings with fine silvery veins behind her. She holds a gold bauble and is just hanging it on a branch; a star already shines at the top. Wrapped presents with bows stand at her feet. The white canvas is barely covered and the whole scene rests on warm beige half-tones. Eighteen floss colours over 48 m, of which 3 m is silver and 18 m gold metallic thread. The angel's wings are worked in single stitches of silver thread — almost transparent, so they do not compete with the tree.
