Description

“Give me a hug” shows two fluffy owls pressed together inside one shared jumper.

What the picture shows

The birds stand shoulder to shoulder and turn their heads towards each other; the feathers are worked in russet, brown and ochre with short stitches running in different directions, and the eyes are pale almond shapes. Both wear a single knitted jumper with a grey-green Nordic pattern, a red trim and a large brown parcel with a green and red bow right in the centre. Cream bellies and thin russet legs with spread toes show below the knitwear. Tiny red and white hats perch on their heads, and a small red heart is stitched just above them. Seventeen floss colours go mostly into the pattern of the jumper. The blue Aida stays as the background and is left unstitched. The figures fill nearly the whole circle, from the bottom edge up to the heart, and keep the composition centred.
