Description

“Feathers and dandelions” shows a small bunch of two feathers and dried flowers tied together.

What the picture shows

A blue feather with a clear pale shaft stands in the middle, a violet and lilac one beside it, and a light striped feather in cream and brown with a frayed tip lies in front of them. Thin stems rise between them carrying round ochre-yellow heads that look like dandelions, along with small blue flowers with yellow centres. Stems and leaves are worked in light green and olive and run past the edges of the bunch as thin lines. Nineteen floss colours hold the play of cool blue against warm gold. The background is not stitched: the design lies straight on the fabric, in the photo on the pocket of a denim shirt, where the dark denim stays as the ground.
