Description

“Duckling’s Walk” shows a yellow duckling under a large blue umbrella.

What the picture shows

The duckling stands in a shallow puddle, holding the umbrella handle with its beak and wing; the canopy is deep blue with broad panels and drops along the rim. Its down is warm yellow and its feet orange. Raindrops fall around, some of them worked in Preciosa beads, and rings spread on the water under its feet. The white canvas stays clean and reads as wet grey air. Sixteen floss colours, 28 m of thread. The duckling's down is worked in short stitches in three yellows, with the beak and feet in a saturated orange.
