“Delicate feeling” shows two penguins huddled together in a night snowfall.

What the picture shows

The penguins stand side by side on a white drift; each wears a red knitted hat with a pompom and a green scarf, wings folded as if they were holding on to each other. The sky behind them is deep blue and violet, scattered with yellow stars and thick snow. The blue canvas is almost fully covered at the top and stays open under the snowy slope. Twenty floss colours, and the large snowflakes are worked in Preciosa No. 6 large beads. The hats and scarves are the only warm patches in a cool palette, and that is where the eye rests.
