Cross Stitch Kit "Cat and mouse"
Description
“Cat and mouse” shows a black cat perched on top of a tall stack of presents.
What the picture shows
The stack is built from boxes in different patterns — stripes, small flowers, checks and dots in red, green, purple and ochre. A black cat in a red hat sprawls on the very top with its tail hanging down, and a grey mouse peeks out of the side of the pile. Golden strokes of decorative metallic thread run across the coffee canvas on both sides. The background is not stitched, so the coffee colour works as the warm light of a room. Seventeen floss colours, 36 m of thread. The boxes are deliberately different in texture: each has its own pattern, so the stack does not look uniform.

A 150×150 mm format with a very dense centre and a light ground. The piece looks good in a round hoop or a frame — both chosen separately, as neither comes with the kit. Metallic thread is used in shorter lengths than floss — it twists less and frays less that way. The golden strokes at the sides are stitched last, once the stack is finished.
