“A beautiful woman” shows one large aster in a clay pot with a few warm words beside it.

What the picture shows

The flower fills the right half of the circle: lilac-blue petals with an orange centre, a tall olive stem and two broad leaves, and a striped yellow-ochre pot below. On the left, “For pretty woman” is stitched in pink script. The light yellow canvas is left unstitched and gives a warm background of its own, against which the cool petals read more clearly. Six floss colours and 6 m of thread — the shortest piece in the series. The stripes on the pot and the veins of the leaves are worked in a separate dark shade that holds the drawing together.
