Color town
Description
“Color town” is a bead embroidery pattern showing a street of an old town in autumn rain.
What the picture shows
Four façades stand shoulder to shoulder: green on the left, ochre-yellow and terracotta in the middle, pale blue on the right. Each has its own windows — arched, rectangular, with balconies, striped awnings and white curtains; the roofs are red or tin, with a chimney and a weather vane. Trees with orange and green foliage grow in front of the houses, and a red vintage car with round headlamps stands in the lower left. On the right a couple walks along the wall under an umbrella. The rain is shown as white slanting strokes across the whole surface, and blue puddles shine on the cobbles. The painter's signature sits in the lower right corner. The circles on the canvas show where the beads go: the façades, the trees, the car and the puddles are covered, while part of the shadow stays as printing.
