“Your Little Cupid” is a heart with a cherub resting its chin on its hands among white clouds.

What the picture shows

The clouds are worked in large matt white beads — they take up most of the heart and give the piece its relief. The wings are laid in golden and cream beads, the strands of hair in copper, the drapery in gold. The cherub’s face and hands stay printed and the beadwork carefully goes around them. The ground is pale blue, the heart is trimmed with white beads and the ribbon is white. The second part of the work is a matching heart with an angel in golden robes among white clouds. The copper strands of hair stand out against the white clouds.

The pieces are sewn together, the decorative filler goes inside and a ribbon loop is left at the top. The calm white-and-gold palette makes it suitable both as a christening gift and as decor for a shelf. The pattern is in colour, printed straight on the canvas. The sheet music, blue papers and stars in the photo are styling props. The clouds are worked freely, without a firm outline — that is what makes them look soft.
