Description

“Warm Ray” is a patchwork four-pointed star in coral, cherry and blue on a grey ground.

What the picture shows

The rays are printed as patches of different tone: two warm — coral and cherry — and two cool — blue and greyish navy. The beads outline each of them in its own colour and meet at the centre in small beads. The grey ground is left open and makes the colours quieter than they really are. The square is trimmed with a pale lilac rim and hangs on a grey ribbon. The second part of the work is a grey square with a pinwheel of blue, coral and lilac patches.

The centre of the star is worked last, once all four rays are in place.
