Description
“Under the Christmas Star” shows a white goat with golden horns standing in the snow beneath a moon and an eight-pointed star.
What the picture shows
The body is worked in small rows of matt white beads, the horns and beard in golden ones, while the hooves stay printed. Above, copper beads lay out a crescent and a star, with white snowflakes scattered around. A band of green needles with red berries runs along the bottom, and a small cottage with a printed roof stands to the right. The dark grey ground carries a fine printed pattern and is deliberately left open. The circle is trimmed with a copper rim and hangs on a white ribbon.

The pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and hung on the ribbon. The goat is a recognisable figure of Ukrainian carolling, so the ornament suits both the tree and a Christmas gift. The pattern is in colour and printed straight on the canvas. The candle, kraft parcels, cones and guelder rose in the photo are styling props. The horns and beard are worked in gold last, once the white body is finished.
