Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Tulip"

“Tulip” is a tulip brooch built from pink and lilac crystals in a silvery bead setting.

What the picture shows

The bud is made of three large faceted stones in pink and lilac, laid over one another like petals. The setting is worked in fine silvery microbeads, which also run along the whole outline of the flower. Long pointed leaves of rondelles and bugle beads reach out on either side of the bud — the bugles give those even parallel lines that read as veins. The kit holds 8 bead colours in all, so the palette stays restrained: silver, grey and a few shades of pink. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely, then cut out.

The finished tulip is 70×60 mm. The work is of average difficulty: the main task is to fix the large stones neatly and to keep the setting even around them. The piece is fitted with the clasp from the kit, so it is worn on a jumper, a jacket or a hat band. The stones and findings are already matched to the design, so nothing else needs to be bought.
