“Tiger” is a brooch of a tiger’s face in orange, turquoise and black.

What the picture shows

The face is shown head-on and fills the whole piece. Stripes across the brow and cheeks are laid in black beads over orange and ochre, with turquoise and green rows woven between them, which makes the tiger decorative rather than lifelike. The nose and muzzle are worked in pink and white beads, and the eyes are marked with pale stones over a dark dot. Short rays of beads run around the outline and read as fur. Bugle beads and rondelles are scattered over the cheeks and add shine. The kit holds 26 bead colours, the richest palette in this batch. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely.

The finished piece is 70×57 mm. The level is average, but there are many colours, so it is worth sorting the beads into compartments before you start. The brooch takes the clasp from the kit and holds well on firm fabric such as a denim jacket or a coat. The finished embroidery is cut out along the outline, the back is closed with a base, and the clasp from the kit is fixed to it.
