“There is a Christmas tree born in a forest!” shows a dressed-up fir tree on a blue starry ground, worked in gold, white and orange beads.

What the picture shows

The tree here is not green but warm, almost honey-coloured: rows of golden and amber beads run from top to bottom, white specks read as snow or lights, and a pale star crowns the tip. The base is square, with a printed night sky and small snowflakes; the ground is left free of beads on purpose so that the gold glows more strongly. A blue beaded rim runs along the edge, with a white ribbon above. The second part of the work is a turquoise square with a silver-white tree.

The two pieces are sewn together with the padding inside, giving a soft square pendant on a ribbon. Ornaments like this look best in a group — several different motifs on one branch. The fir, the mitten and the kraft parcel in the photo are styling props. The tree is built row by row from the bottom up, which is what makes the gold lie as evenly as a real garland. The level is simple and the pattern is printed straight on the canvas.
