Description

“The key to the heart-1” is a red heart with a cat’s face hidden in its pattern. Nine colours, all of them built around red.

What the picture shows

The shape is classic: a heart with a small notch at the top. The main field is worked in red and coral beads, scattered with black spots that read as a leopard print. Closer to the bottom, lighter pink beads mark the cheeks, with a black triangle of a nose between them and thin dark whisker lines. The outline is black, with a fine pink border running just inside it. This is the shortest palette among the jewellery pieces in the batch, so from a distance the piece reads as one red mass with a graphic drawing on it.

The piece is small and almost symmetrical. The embroidery is cut out along the heart outline and mounted as a brooch; the little key in the photo, the pin and the backing are chosen separately. The heart is symmetrical, so the second half is easiest to mirror from the first. The piece pairs with the black-and-white “The key to the heart-2”.
