Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Song of the Swallow"
Description
“Song of the Swallow” is a swallow with blue wings, a white belly and a rusty throat.
What the picture shows
The swallow is shown in flight, wings spread and the forked tail opened. The back and wings are worked in blue, dark blue and near black microbeads, the rows following the feathers so the wing does not look flat. The belly is white and pearl, and a rusty patch sits under the beak — the mark by which a swallow is known. Thirteen rondelles in three kinds are scattered over the wings for uneven shine, and two leaf stones mark the tips of the tail. Ten centimetres of bullion wire outline the beak and head. The kit holds 20 bead colours and the difficulty is above average.

The finished piece is 66×52 mm. The fine shifts of blue and the narrow tail call for experience, so this is not really a first project. It is fitted with the decorative clasp from the kit; the sheet music and flowers in the photograph are not included. The stones and findings are already matched to the design, so nothing else needs to be bought.
