Description

“Red cardinal” shows a bright red bird with a black mask perched among printed flowers and holly.

What the picture shows

The breast and back are worked in several shades of red bead, the crest in darker ones, the beak as a golden dot, while the black mask around the eye stays printed. A branch with red berries and green leaves runs below. The pale ground carries a botanical drawing and is deliberately left unbeaded. The circle is trimmed with red beads and the ribbon is dark grey. The second part of the work is a white base with a red poinsettia. The cardinal’s beak is marked with a single golden bead. The green leaves under the bird are worked in matt beads without any shine.

The red branch, the card and the walnut in the photo are styling props. The shades of red are close to one another, so it helps to sort them into separate dishes before you start. The pattern is printed on the canvas, with no symbols to check.
