Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Purple"

“Purple” is a butterfly of the same shape as “Purple wave”, but in a bright pink and raspberry range.

What the picture shows

The wing outline is worked in raspberry beads, while the field inside is filled with fuchsia, pink and lilac, with small black dots closer to the body. Two faceted drops lie on the upper wings — pale violet on the left, lilac on the right. Below them sit oval stones the colour of coral and raspberry, edged with orange beads that add a warm counterweight to the cool lilac. Twelve colours, all bright: from peach to purple, with no muted or dark tones in the piece. The orange edging around the stones is the only warm tone, and it keeps the pink from looking monotonous.

The piece is horizontal and small. The embroidery is cut out along the outline and mounted as a brooch; the stones, the pin and the backing are not part of the kit. This is the brightest of the four butterflies cut to the same shape; it shows even against a patterned fabric, so a plain background suits it best.
