Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Pineapple"

“Pineapple” is a pineapple brooch with a golden body and a dense green crown.

What the picture shows

The fruit is oval, worked in yellow, honey and amber beads; bronze beads laid diagonally in both directions mark the diamond grid of the skin. A round faceted stone with a rainbow sheen is set in the centre, ringed with gold beads. The leaves fan out at the top like a star in dark green and lime, with elongated green stones and two clear inserts between them. Fourteen colours: the yellow half is warm and light, the green one darker and cooler, and that is the strongest contrast in the piece. The pineapple skin comes out textured thanks to the bronze lines that cross at an angle and divide the field into small diamonds.

The piece is vertical, roughly twice as tall as it is wide. The embroidery is cut out along the outline and mounted as a brooch; the stones, the pin and the backing are chosen separately. The diagonal grid of the skin sets the rhythm for the whole piece, so it is laid first and the gaps are filled with yellow beads afterwards.
