Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Passionate Kisses"

“Passionate Kisses” is a pair of lips in red beads with bright hemispheres.

What the picture shows

The lips are shown close up and slightly parted. The upper lip is darker, worked in crimson and wine microbeads, the lower one lighter, shading into red and pink — and that contrast is what gives the sense of volume. A narrow dark band runs along the line between the lips, and the corners are picked out in almost black beads. Seven hemispheres of two kinds are set on the lower lip as highlights, and three leaf stones lie near the corners. Seventeen Preciosa No. 6 beads in two kinds outline the shape and sharpen the edge, while eight centimetres of bullion wire hide the join. The kit holds 15 bead colours.

The finished piece is 74×46 mm — wide and low. The level is average and the work is not hard: the shifts of red run across large areas. It is fitted with the decorative clasp from the kit; the jumper in the photograph shows the scale and is not part of it. There are 15 bead colours and about 475 beads here, so it is worth sorting them into compartments before you start.
