Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Palette"

“Palette” is a brooch shaped like a painter’s palette with a brush. It has the fewest beads in the batch and is still one of the most colourful.

What the picture shows

The palette body is worked in white and silvery beads, closed by a dense dark grey border with a pearly sheen, and a curve in the outline marks the thumb hole. Five large round faceted stones lie on the surface — green, yellow, red, blue and violet, like fresh dabs of paint. A thin brush of amber and brown beads with a pale tip sticks out to the upper left. Sixteen colours across 417 beads make the densest range in the batch, so every row differs noticeably from the one next to it.

The piece is small and vertical. The embroidery is cut out along the outline and mounted as a brooch; the stones, the pin and the backing are chosen separately. Because the piece is small and the shades many, it helps to sort the beads into compartments beforehand so similar colours do not get mixed up.
