Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Owl"

Owl is a night bird in a blue-and-gold palette, with large eyes and drops hanging below. It is the most detailed piece in the series: seventeen bead colours.

What the picture shows

The owl sits facing the viewer, wings folded. Head and back are laid in blue and cobalt beads, the brows and ear tufts are ginger, and the big eyes have black pupils in a gold rim. The breast is lighter: pearls and beige and lilac stones lie in rows like feathering. A domed blue cabochon sits in the centre, and teardrop pendants hang below on strands of beads. The scheme is printed on the canvas in colour, so the gaps between beads stay as print and do not disturb the image. The feet are not shown — the bird seems to sit within its own plumage, which keeps the silhouette compact.
