Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "New Year sweets"

“New Year sweets” shows a generous cupcake with a swirl of cream, a fir sprig and colourful sprinkles.

What the picture shows

The case is worked in green beads with little white flowers, the cream in rows of ivory and orange beads that curve in a wave, and a green sprig with red berries sits on top. Tiny yellow, blue and pink beads read as sugar sprinkles. The pale blue ground carries printed golden stars and is left open so as not to compete with the relief. The second part of the work is a matching blue circle with a terracotta basket of sweets. The berries on the sprig above add a few red dots to the cupcake.

The pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and hung on a white ribbon. The edible motif works well in a kitchen: this ornament often ends up on a cupboard door or a biscuit jar. The greenery, confetti and cookie cutters in the photo are styling props. The cream is worked in a wave, row after row, and that part gives the piece its relief. The pattern is in colour, printed straight on the canvas.
