Description

“New Year's gift” shows a festive box with a red bow, banked with fir branches and cones.

What the picture shows

The bow is worked in red beads, the ribbon on the box in gold, the needles around it in two shades of green, and the cones in copper beads laid like scales. The box itself stays lightly printed, so the red and gold ring out more clearly against it. The ground is cream and the circle is trimmed with pearly white beads. The second part of the work uses the same base with a large red bow among green needles. The golden ribbon crosses the box from corner to corner.

Both pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and hung on a white ribbon. The ornament is easy to attach straight to a present — it works both as a tag and as a small gift in its own right. The grey pearls, the cone and the paper in the photo are styling props. The scales of the cones are worked in copper beads one after another, from bottom to top — the finest area of the piece. The pattern is in colour and printed straight on the canvas.
