Description

“New joy” shows a white radiant star and a white dove on a dark grey ground among green branches and red berries.

What the picture shows

The star is worked in matt white beads laid in rows along every ray — it glows against the dark ground like a paper cut-out. The dove on the second piece is done the same way, white on dark, with open wings. A wreath of fine green needles, red berries and pink flowers runs around both motifs. The ground stays printed, so the foliage looks soft while the beadwork stays dense. The edge is trimmed with a turquoise rim. The red berries in the wreath are set in threes and fours.

The pattern is in colour, printed straight on the canvas.
