Description

“Midnight Horrors” shows a grinning skull in a black top hat holding an orange pumpkin with carved eyes.

What the picture shows

The top hat is worked in glossy black beads with an orange band, and the teeth and cheekbones of the skull are outlined in white and grey. The pumpkin in its hand is laid in orange beads over the printed drawing, while the bow tie and collar are black. The grey ground carries printed clouds and small skulls and is deliberately left unbeaded, so the design reads like an old engraving. The circle is trimmed with a copper rim and hangs on a silver-grey ribbon. The second part of the work is a brownish base with a white ghost inside a copper ring.

Both pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and hung on the ribbon. This is decor for late October: the pendant looks good on a door handle, a branch in a vase or among candles on a shelf. The pattern is printed on the canvas in colour, so the beads go straight over the shapes. The skull stickers, bare twigs and envelopes in the photo are styling props.
