Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "In a Sweater"
Description
“In a Sweater” is a grey cat in a striped knitted jumper.
What the picture shows
The cat sits head-on with its paws hidden under the clothes. The head is worked in grey and silvery microbeads, the muzzle lighter, the ears with a pink centre, and the eyes marked with dark beads and a white dot. The whole lower half is the jumper: it is built from horizontal bands of green, red, yellow, white and grey beads, each band filled as its own row, which is why the kit holds as many as 21 colours. The collar and cuffs are made with a denser row, and two decorative sequins sit on the chest. Five Preciosa No. 6 beads, two rondelles and a hemisphere give points of shine. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely.

The finished piece is 57×68 mm. The level is average: the stripes must lie evenly or the knit will look crooked. It is fitted with the decorative clasp from the kit; the green tassel and the stars in the photograph are styling props. The work is fine, so it is worth having good light and a small magnifier close at hand.
