Description

“Hot pepper” is a red chilli with pearls and a green stalk.

What the picture shows

The pepper curves in an arc and runs from top to bottom through the whole piece. The pod is worked in red, crimson and dark red microbeads, the rows following the form so that you can see it narrow towards the tip. Closer to the stalk the surface lightens, and three pearls set there read as a highlight. The stalk is green, built from several shades, with a leaf stone at its side. Eight centimetres of bullion wire outline the stalk with a thin metal spiral and separate it from the red. The kit holds 18 bead colours, most of them shades of red. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely, then cut out.
