“Golden ornament” is a dark bracelet with golden scrolls and stones of many colours.

What the picture shows

The ground is worked in deep cherry and black beads, with golden spirals winding across it, laid bead by bead. The pattern is symmetrical: scrolls spread from the centre and green, raspberry, yellow and clear faceted stones are set into them. A large square stone with a rainbow sheen sits in the middle, with a yellow drop below it. The strip narrows towards the clasps and widens in the centre. The canvas is covered completely, so the gold reads on the dark ground like chasing rather than separate beads. The scrolls are not perfectly mirrored — on one side the spiral runs longer, and it shows in the light.
