Description

“Festive Halloween” shows a grinning pumpkin in a black witch’s hat among smaller pumpkins on a black ground.

What the picture shows

The hat is worked in black beads with an orange band, and the pumpkin itself is laid in orange beads over the printed drawing, its carved eyes and mouth glowing yellow. Small pumpkins, leaves and orange specks are scattered around. The circle is trimmed with a black-and-orange rim and hangs on a silver-grey ribbon. The second part of the work is a greyish base with black bare trees against an orange sky. The band on the hat is worked in orange beads. The small pumpkins beside the big one use the same orange beads.

The pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and hung on the ribbon. This is a late-October ornament: it goes on a door, a branch in a vase or above the table. The orange paper, bare twigs and the pumpkin stencil in the photo are styling props. The orange beads go over the printed pumpkin, leaving the cut-out eyes and mouth open. The pattern is printed on the canvas in colour, so the order is clear from the start.
