Description

“Fairy-tale Elf” shows a little elf in a green cap holding a red gift box and peeking out from behind fir branches.

What the picture shows

The cap is worked in green beads with a white fur band, the box in red with a pearl ribbon, and the needles around them in green and white in several rows. The elf’s face and hands stay printed, so it still looks drawn rather than beaded. The muted green ground carries printed snowfall and white beaded specks. The circle is trimmed with a dark green rim and hangs on a white ribbon. The second part of the work uses the same base with a snow-covered house and a yellow light in the window.

Both pieces are sewn together with the padding inside and a ribbon loop is left. The ornament looks good paired with the other green motifs of the series — on the tree or on a fir wreath. The pattern is printed on the canvas in colour. The fir branches, star anise, red berries and the knitted throw in the photo are styling props. The fur band on the cap is worked in slightly larger white beads.
