Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Emerald snail"

“Emerald snail” is a snail with a green shell and a bronze spiral at its centre.

What the picture shows

The snail crawls to the right, its body stretched out and two horns raised. The shell takes up most of the piece: it is built from twenty-four green sequins laid in a spiral, with a bronze and gold core of rondelles and pearls at the very middle. Twelve bicones in two kinds are spaced along the whorls and stress the turn. The body is worked in dark green and emerald microbeads, with eighteen bugle beads laid along it in even strokes. Twelve centimetres of bullion wire outline the lower edge of the body. The kit holds 13 bead colours. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely.

The finished piece is 61×59 mm and reads as nearly round. The level is average: the spiral has to be kept even or the shell loses its shape. It is fitted with the decorative clasp from the kit. There are 13 bead colours and about 387 beads here, so it is worth sorting them into compartments before you start. The finished embroidery is cut out along the outline, the back is closed with a base, and the clasp from the kit is fixed to it.
