Description

Elephant shows a festively dressed elephant in profile, gathered from beads of many colours.

What the picture shows

The elephant walks to the left, trunk lowered, its ear outlined in lighter beads and a white tusk pushing slightly forward. The body is worked in blue and pale blue beads with grey shifts. A caparison lies across its back: a large red flower with a yellow centre, pink, turquoise and green patches beside it, and a row of white pearls hanging along the lower edge like fringe. The eye is a black bead in a pale setting. Nineteen colours make the figure lively and festive, while the ground inside the contour stays a calm blue. Here and there the printed scheme shows between the beads in a matching tone.
