Description

“Easter Company” is a pair of pale blue eggs: a lamb on one, a yellow chick in a green wreath on the other.

What the picture shows

The lamb is worked in cream and beige beads in small curls, which is how the fleece is rendered; the face stays printed. The chick is laid in yellow beads with a wreath of green and white beads around its neck. Grass in green beads rises at the foot of both eggs. The ground is pale blue, the edges are trimmed with white and blue beads and the pendants hang on white ribbons tied in bows.

The two pieces are sewn together, the decorative filler goes inside and a loop is left at the top. Pendants like these often hang on a branch in a vase beside painted eggs, or are given to children at Easter. The pattern is in colour and printed straight on the canvas. The blue feathers, forget-me-nots, daisies and dyed eggs in the photo are styling props. The lamb’s fleece is worked in small loops rather than rows — the most interesting part. The pattern is printed on the canvas in colour, with no separate key needed.
