Christmas tree is a small decorated fir in which faceted stones stand in for baubles.

What the picture shows

The crown is worked in dark green and emerald beads, while the branches are marked out with gold bugle beads laid in slanting rows that read as a garland thrown over the tree. Baubles hang across it: a round red stone on the right, green faceted drops, amber and turquoise beads, and a large clear cabochon with a rainbow sheen at the lower left. A loop of gold beads finishes the top. The trunk and the lower edge are filled with dark beads, so the outline of the tree stays crisp. Seventeen colours on such a small area give the busy, festive look the subject asks for, and the printed scheme remains in the gaps between beads.
