Blue gold-A is a decorative motif that reads at once as an open feather and as an iris flower.

What the picture shows

The petals spread upwards and outwards, then curl inward at the bottom, so the shape carries movement, as if the wind had just opened it. The upper part is worked in blue, violet and turquoise beads holding several sea-coloured faceted stones. Towards the bottom the palette warms: the core is filled with gold and copper beads that read as light inside the cold blue. A dark blue outline traces the complex shape with its curves and notches. Eighteen colours give depth without hard borders — the shades move into one another row by row, and the printed scheme stays in the gaps between beads.
