Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Beetroot"
Description
“Beetroot” is a beet worked in violet sequins with green leaves on top.
What the picture shows
The root points downwards and fills the lower two thirds of the piece. Its surface is made of nineteen sequins in four kinds, laid over one another like scales, giving a deep violet sheen that shifts as the brooch turns. The top of the beet is lighter, with a pink transition. A rosette of leaves rises above it in two shades of green microbeads, with two leaf stones and a hatchet hidden among them. Bullion wire in two kinds, fifteen centimetres together, outlines the stalks with a thin metal line. The kit holds 20 bead colours. Inside the outline the canvas is stitched densely.

The finished piece is 66×37 mm (2.59×1.46 in) — small and easy to notice. The level is average: the sequins have to be overlapped in one direction. It takes the clasp from the kit; the tassels and cards in the photograph are styling props. There are 20 bead colours and about 328 beads here, so it is worth sorting them into compartments before you start.
