Christmas Ornament Bead Embroidery Kit "Amethyst iris"

“Amethyst iris” is an iris brooch in violet and lilac tones with large faceted stones.

What the picture shows

The flower opens towards you: the upper petals stand up and the lower ones fall away. The petals are worked in violet, lilac and plum microbeads, reinforced at the edges with rows of crimson and purple. Several large leaf-shaped stones in amethyst lie at the centre, and beneath them a yellow throat lifts the whole piece. The stem is stitched in dark green and emerald beads and bends slightly to one side. The kit holds 20 bead colours, so the shifts between petal shades stay soft. Inside the outline the printed canvas is stitched densely, then cut out.

The finished piece is 73×89 mm and keeps its upright format together with the stem. The level is average: the petals need attention to the direction of the rows, and the stones go on at the end. The brooch takes the clasp from the kit and needs no frame or stand. The work is fine, so it is worth having good light and a small magnifier close at hand.
