Description

“A little puzzle” is a piece in a pale, almost monochrome range: seven colours, all within cream and pearl.

What the picture shows

In the centre of the elongated shape sits an open flower with narrow petals — pinkish pearl beads with a yellow middle. Small cream and white curls wind around it like frost on glass. A pale openwork pattern in white beads with visible relief lies at the top and bottom. The cream ground between the elements stays as print on the canvas, and that is exactly what keeps the piece light instead of heavy. There is almost no contrast here — everything rests on the play of sheen and on the difference in texture.
