Description

“A fish” is the largest and most colourful piece in this series: a blue fish among flowers on an almost square base with rounded corners.

What the picture shows

The fish swims to the left, its body worked in light blue and turquoise, with darker beads marking the scales. The mouth is yellow, and a green stem with a yellow flower runs from it. The lower half is filled with a bouquet: a large orange-red bloom with a turquoise centre, pink and white flowers beside it, green curls and carved leaves in between. Twenty-one colours make the widest palette in the batch. The beads cover the whole area in dense rows, so the printed canvas shows only in the gaps and along the cut edge.

The finished embroidery is cut out along the outline and mounted as a brooch — the pin and backing are not part of the kit. This piece has the most beads in the batch — 1,600 — so it stretches over several evenings, but the result is visible even from a distance.
