Description

“With an open heart” grows pink hearts out of a denim pocket instead of flowers. The joke rests on a single substitution.

What the picture shows

A patch pocket of denim lies at the bottom centre: the cloth itself stays printed, with its seams and worn edges, while the beads build the top band and a row of golden-orange beads beneath it. Five hearts rise out of the pocket on printed olive stems with pointed leaves. The hearts are worked in two shades of pink — the darker one along the edge, the lighter inside — with white dots scattered over them like tiny flowers. One heart is smaller and set to the side, another hangs out to the right beyond the pocket. A printed tab reading “Love” shows on the pocket itself. The white ground and the stems are left unbeaded, and four colours are enough, because the whole piece lives on pink.
