Description

Ukraine shows the blue-and-yellow flag with the trident on a white shield, and a colourful bouquet spread out below it.

What the picture shows

The flag is worked as two large fields: blue above, yellow below, with the edge shown as a wavy line so the cloth looks caught by the wind. A white shield with a golden trident lies in the middle, outlined in blue and white. A bouquet fans out under the flag: red, orange and yellow blooms, blue flowers with yellow centres and green leaves worked in long strips. The composition is symmetrical — the left and right halves mirror one another. The white ground is left clear, with no beads on it. There are 9 colours, and with approx. 1,111 beads this is one of the densest pieces in the batch. The flag is worked first, in horizontal rows. The trident is worked in yellow beads within the outline of the shield and calls for more precision than anything else here.
