Description

Teddy hare - 1 shows a hare with long pink ears in a green jacket, sitting beside a spool of thread.

What the picture shows

The ears are worked in white beads with a pink outline and are the longest, lightest elements in the piece. The jacket is done in several greens with a dark band along the hem; the paws are shown as pale ovals with an amber rim. A spool wound with dark green and grey thread stands on the left, and a red flower with a white centre lies on the right. A grey bead thread winds across the white field below. The ground with its small printed carrot pattern is left clear. The 9 colours make a soft range. The ears come first: they set the height of the figure, and the jacket then runs in even horizontal rows. The grey thread below is run as one unbroken line, while the spool is worked in dense horizontal rows so the winding reads.
